Touching the Edge of the Universe

400 years after Galileo Galilei's revolutionary discoveries in the starry sky, two modern satellites engineered by the European Space Agency lift off into space. They are to witness the birth of stars and planets and observe the first instants of the existence of our universe. For the first time, most recent projection technology makes it possible to experience the fascination of European space travel in 360 degrees. Observe the launch of the spacecraft Ariane 5 at closest hand!

“Touching the Edge of the Universe” is a state-of-the-art multimedia show commissioned by the European Space Agency for the International Year of Astronomy 2009. It was produced at the University of Applied Sciences Kiel for an international association of planetaria.

It is supported by our media partner German Culture Radio (Deutschlandradio Kultur).
