StartIng
startIng! is a project targeted at freshmen/freshwomen (students) at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and since the winter semester 2015/16 also for freshmen/freshwomen at the Faculty of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
Since 2006, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Social Work and Health have offered approx. 120 students each winter semester a practice-oriented insight into the work of the engineer profession. The students work on a realistic problem and present their solution in front of a large audience at the end of the project week.
The teams are technically assisted by specialist coaches from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, whereas team coaches from the Faculty of Social Work and Health assist with coping with dynamic group processes. Gender relevant issues and a high gender sensitivity as well as the close cooperation with the Equal Opportunities Office are anchored in the concept of the startIng project.
