Student Parliament
StuPa is an abbreviation for the student parliament. It is the highest decision-making body of the students and forms the legislature of student committees. The StuPa, like the AStA is prescribed by §72 of the law governing universities and the university hospital of Schleswig-Holstein (Higher Education Act - HSG).
The StuPa is elected once a year from the whole student body. Every student can co-determine who will represent the students' interests at the highest level of the student body. The StuPa then elects the AStA, i.e. the officers and the executive committee. Resolutions from the StuPa are executed by the AStA.
Topics that are discussed in the meetings are:
- university policy matters
- decisions on the finances of the student body
- approval of higher financial requests
- convening of the plenary
- and other aspects
The meetings take place regularly every three weeks and are open to all university members. If required, extraordinary meetings can be convened.
