Research Project: Culture meets School – Empirical Research in the Context of Cultural Education
In this research project, we accompany the culture and education programme “School meets Culture – Culture meets School” (website: https://www.kulturvermittler-sh.de) of the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture of Schleswig-Holstein, funded by the Mercator Foundation of the UAS Kiel in cooperation with the University of Flensburg.
The project “School meets Culture” supports the cooperation of artists and schools to sustainably anchor cultural-aesthetic education in educational facilities.
The concept of scientifically accompanying the project “School meets Culture” was developed by Prof Sabine Grosser (UAS Kiel) and Prof Matthias Bauer (University of Flensburg). With the help of qualitative methods, we examine the factors of success and characteristics of cultural education in the educational context.
This project is integrated in our teaching. Students will gain knowledge ofn qualitative research methods and practical insights into the field of cultural education.
In a conference with the same name, we present the concept.
Various scientific works that document the study’s results are in prospect. They will be published in the coming years.
Cultural education through creative writing about images
Empirical observations on the examination of receptive perception processes of an image when writing creatively
The study explores cultural impact and education processes using the example of creative writing about images. We examine the receptive process of perception of a visual impetus/ image in the creative act of writing.
