  At the Institute for Immersive Media (ifim), the Faculty of Media investigates immersive phenomena in the perception and reception of user interfaces
   
• Institute for Applied Journalism (ifap)
  At the Institute for Applied Journalism (ifap), the Faculty of Media examines strategies in public communication

Research and knowledge transfer creates synergies and new ideas for shaping the future. Both are therefore very important at Kiel University of Applied Sciences. A large number of projects as well as the Institute for Immersive Media and Applied Journalism provide space and opportunities for this. These are managed and supported by the professors of the University of Applied Sciences.

• Institute for Civil Engineering (IfB)
  The 'Institute for Civil Engineering' offers the bachelor's degree BEng. in Civil Engineering Offered. During the training, focus is not only on planning and building, but also on the economical and careful use of resources and the expansion of the infrastructure, taking environmental protection into account
  The institute has the following teaching and research laboratories: CAD laboratories, laboratory for building materials and building diagnostics, laboratory for structural engineering, road construction laboratory, hydraulic engineering laboratory, laboratory for building surveying
