Prof. Dr. Strauß holds a professorship for work planning/work preparation in the field of production technology. He is currently managing director of the Institute for Production Engineering and CIM Technology Transfer  and is head of the research group "Smart Factory and Shoplfooor IT". The focus of his teaching in the Department of Mechanical Engineering is production organization and PPS, digital factory technology, cloud manufacturing and Industry 4.0, machine tools and CNC technology, as well as the design of work systems and ergonomics. He is also speaker for the research focus "Intelligent Mobility" at Kiel University of Applied Sciences.
In addition to his work at Kiel University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Strauß has teaching positions at the AKAD University Stuttgart and the FOM University (HH location).
