Apprenticeship as Welding Engineer

International welding engineers are specially educated experts in the field of welding and joining technology with a variety of working fields.
As welding engineer, you will take on the supervision of welding constructions in all fields of application. From construction to production, special welding skills are necessary to manage the extensive and complex challenges.
The title DVS-IIW/EWF International Welding Engineer is an internationally acknowledged qualification.
Students and future graduates of the Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture and Maritime Engineering and Offshore Systems Engineering of the UAS Kiel have the possibility to complete part 1 of the vocational education as international welding engineers within their university education (SFI, IWE).
This theoretical training is completed with a written exam SFI part 1 and a certificate and is acknowledged by SLV Nord for participation in part 2 of the SFI education.

The exam SFI part 1 must be completed by 2 years after successfully completing your studies at the latest.

You will get the necessary performance certificate for the exam admission at SLV-Nord as soon as all your required modules are completed successfully. For that, ask the examination office to print, stamp and sign a "Notenspiegel der erbrachten Studien- und Prüfungsleistungen".
Make an appointment (please send me a date proposal) and bring your performance certificate from the examination office.
