Network automation laboratory

A network containing several so called IED’s (intelligent electronic devices) will be implemented according to the standard IEC61850 for experiments and teaching/laboratory.

 

This technology is significantly characterised by its communication through Ethernet and SCL (description language) to constantly model the system.

 

A station bus as well as a process bus for the transmission of sample values will be realised.

 

Besides the usual relay testing we also experiment with the characteristics of the Ethernet communication.

 

The system image will be realised through WINCC. The devices and the host computer are interconnected.

Energy management laboratory

The energy management laboratory offers space for experiments and teaching for (parallel) operations of decentralised generation installations in the energy supply grid.

 

Typical subjects such as synchronisation, load distribution and the characteristics of parallel machines could be examined and disclosed.
