Under the title ‘Purchasing – Fit for the Future’ managers from the areas of purchasing, materials management and logistics have met at our university for more than 20 years. Our focus is the professional exchange of practitioners. We invite technical experts as speakers to mediate knowledge and discuss developments using specific practical cases. Numerous cooperation partners and medium-sized companies that want to optimise their training in the purchasing sector are involved in the programme design. The programme is carried out in cooperation with the "Tannenfelde Bildungs- und Tagungszentrum" from the Institute of Further Education of the UAS Kiel as an open seminar series, in which participants can also achieve a university certificate.

- Student Symposium "With practice for the practice"

Speakers: Students who take elective modules in the field of Supply Chain Management and especially in the subject of "Purchasing"
Since 2004, at the beginning of each year, there has been a student symposium on the topics of purchasing and procurement logistics. According to the motto ‘With practice for practice’, students present and discuss the results of their work to interested practitioners and university members. The very positive feedback from company representatives has led to this idea becoming a regular event every year. The contents of the presentations are student theses and lectures carried out as projects (seminar: Purchasing and Procurement Logistics).

- treff.einkauf – The network for purchasing in Northern Germany
The exchange of thoughts and information between practitioners is the focus of treff.einkauf. Multiple times in a year, we organise meetings, often in combination with a specialist lecture, to establish a vivid purchasing network here in this region. The project is supported by the initiative of the IHK Kiel, various active practitioners from the field of purchasing and the UAS Kiel.
