Research and Development

In line with the interdisciplinary nature of materials science, we are prepared for a wide range of topics.

A current focus is on the development of metallic materials and material surfaces by additive manufacturing.

The starting point for the own preparation comes from the project "Integrated Manufacturing Cell for Innovative 3D Laser Powder Metal Deposition" (InFer3D). It includes a versatile 3D laser metal printer, which shall also be used in cooperations. Thus, the North German Nanotechnology Initiative SH reports on these and other projects on 3D printing and additive manufacturing in Schleswig-Holstein in the NINa-News.
