KVK Karlsruhe Virtual Catalogue
The KVK is a meta-search engine for finding several hundred million books, journals and other media in library and book trade catalogues worldwide. The KVK does not have its own database. It is dependent on the availability of the target systems on the Internet. Nor can it offer more search functionality than the individual target systems themselves.

Electronic Journals Library (EZB)

This database provides access to full-text scientific journals. Searching can be done by journal title, subject area or alphabetically. Access is via a traffic light system: green for freely accessible, yellow for licensed and red for inaccessible journals.

Database Information System (DBIS)

Here you can search for individual scientific databases. The display is also switched according to the traffic light system: green is freely accessible, yellow licensed by the university of applied sciences and red is not accessible.

The journal issues of the current year are located on the ground floor of the library and cannot be borrowed.
Older and bound volumes are in the stacks and can be ordered for use via the online catalogue.

How to organise your knowledge.
Literature management programmes allow you to enter new sources, cite these sources according to a scientific citation style and create bibliographies. For word processing programmes, there are often plug-ins for easy insertion of citations and references.

The following is a selection of common programmes:

A comparison of literature management programms was published by SLUB Dresden in 2021.
